R\u00f6sch’s pictures, taken between 2004 and 2011 in various places in Europe, do not show tourist attractions, but rather everyday situations on the edges of docks, streams, canals and rivers, rain-soaked streets, damp-fogged glass surfaces, fountains, bridges, swimming pools and the like. Beyond just seeing, they also offer a visual reflection on what photographs are capable of. Water – in itself a substance without shape or color, but very receptive to any influence from its environment, especially light – seems to be a particularly suitable medium for this. The technical means R\u00f6sch employs are manifold.
