STADT DENKEN 6

Stadt Denken is the annual publication of the “German Academy for Urban and Regional Planning” (DASL) and contains a selection of contributions from the academy’s work from the past year 2021.
The main topic was “City and Work”. The contributions deal with the new and digitalized forms of work as well as with the changes in the industrial production economy. Questions are also asked about the effects on individual organization and lifestyle practices under the influence of digitized work and mediatized life. And it is a question of what requirements result from this for urban planning: where are there risks for shrinkage and segregation, where opportunities for densification and growth? What value must be attached to the existing stock? The 23 contributions collected in the yearbook offer suggestions and answers for urban planners, architects, investors, politicians, but also committed and interested laypersons.
