Die zwei Elemente der Raumgestaltung

The new description of the lived city considers less the formal image and more the spatial appearance of architecture, the structural order that emerges from the shape-determining arrangement of architectural spaces. Where this spatial shape reflects the particular conditionality of its origin and points back to the path of origin to the act of founding, there the original idea of the city is revealed in the concept of space and in its construction. Every determination of the essence of the architecture of the spaces of the city leads back to this invisible core: the inner space. The description of the city has therefore to start from the phenomenon of the spatially appearing, i.e. the spatiality of the city.
