This book responds to the increasingly urgent need to systematize thoughts that have been made in various contexts - meetings, research, teaching, designs - about the archaeological city of Pompeii, in the conviction that it is an almost inexhaustible but, above all, hardly exhausted depository of "architectural and urban" knowledge, especially if we take up the idea that Pompeii can be a reference point for the design of the modern city: therefore the title "Pompeii. Modern City." In summary, this is not a book that wants to add puzzle pieces to historical knowledge, it aims rather to help the younger visitors of Pompeii to experience an "emotion of architectural nature".
