In a time of rapidly changing user requirements, this book offers a sample catalog of ways in which the combination of two (or more) independent housing units can form a larger one as a new functioning whole, and conversely, if necessary, too large apartments can be divided into independent smaller ones. The selected examples show a well-considered mixture of older and newer house and apartment types, especially since older buildings are currently even better suited for this, since they are functionally less fixed. The focus is on the floor plan and its coupling possibilities in housing construction.
