Bologna

Under the title “Bologna”, volume 3 of the series “Materials on the History, Theory and Design of Architectural Spaces” presents the concept of spatial design teaching as an example. This was conducted in the academic year 2009/10 at the Department of Spatial Design of the Faculty of Architecture of the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen and concurrently in the context of a visiting professorship at the Facoltà di Architettura “Aldo Rossi” of the Università di Bologna, Cede di Cesena, for the publication of differentiated design tasks and exercises with the participation of nearly one hundred German and Italian students of different semesters. Based on a spatial analysis of the historic core city of Bologna, the designs deal with the topic of housing at various locations. With numerous illustrations and explanatory texts, the volume summarizes the results and presents individual projects in more detail.
