AXEL TEICHMANN. KOORDINATEN
In his work, Axel Teichmann addresses "technology" and the "technologization of life" in an enigmatic way that is open to interpretation. Only an interpretative confrontation makes art a living one. The coordinates for this are given in Teichmann's works in a magnificent way.

Technical artifacts are presented in Axel Teichmann’s oeuvre in an antiquated manner: Strained or even overwhelmed-looking people are depicted between these products – between creations that still stood for innovation in the previous century, but now represent something long gone. The choice of his artistic means of expression seems correspondingly antiquated, at least in comparison to contemporary digital art. Yet the very distance this creates is one of the strengths of Teichmann’s works: it creates space for reflection. The sculptural works of people, for example, which almost dissolve in low-pixel graphic representation, seem to allude critically to our digitized world.
