Transkulturelles Bauen in Indien
Das IN:CH Projekt
IN:CH is a workshop platform in Bangalore. It symbolizes the respectful interaction of skills, interests and talents from India and Switzerland. In the accompanying IN:CH STUDIO semester, architecture students in transcultural teams develop sustainable solutions in four different climates in India - the training center in the slum for non-privileged women, an optimization of "food routes" in Mumbai, the pavilion made of disposable material, how pits and ponds are transformed into local recreation - in short: small interventions that connect people. In Bangalore, spatial prototypes are created, built from simple local materials such as bamboo, earth, stone, biofiber, jute, lime - for poor families a chance for a dignified, self-determined life. Craftsmen, weavers and designers work together at eye level with passion.

Jürg Grunder, initiator of IN:CH and author of the book, presents in independent articles, with the help of plans, sketches and illustrations, the tasks, the proposed solutions and the realizations of the individual projects as well as their effects on the social life of the communities. The next step is called IN:CH ACADEMY, the training model for the Indian construction sector.
